QUESTION:
Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman: Which comic book superhero is oldest? (Based upon when they first appeared in a comic book).
ANSWER:
Superman
EXPLANATION:
Among the four superheroes, Spiderman is the youngest. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, he first appeared in Marvel Comic’s Amazing Fantasy #15 in August 1962. So Peter Parker (AKA Spiderman) is 50 years old this month.
Wonder Woman a DC Comics superheroine created by William Moulton Marston first appeared in All Star Comics #8 in December 1941. So the warrior princess of the Amazons is 70 years old.
Batman a comic book superhero created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. That makes the Caped Crusader 73.
Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and the character first appeared in Action Comics #1 in June 1938 making the Man of Steel 74 years old. And that makes Superman the oldest among our four superheroes.
