Trivia Question 3/7/13 – A Stack of Quarters

If I had a stack of quarters one foot high, how much money would I have?




One quarter is 1.75 mm thick.  One foot is equal to 304.8 mm.  So, we divide 304.8 mm by 1.75 mm and get 174 quarters.  Since there are 4 quarters to a dollar, we divide 174 by 4 and get a total of $43.50.
