Trivia Question for October 8, 2015 – Mile o’ Pennies

I am going to lay out a row of pennies one mile long. How many pennies will I need?

Watch out. Here’s where math comes in:

A penny is 0.75 inches in diameter.

A mile is 5280 feet or 63,360 inches.

63,360 divided by 0.75 = 84,480 pennies to the mile.

By the way, that would be over 422 pounds of pennies. Can I get some help carrying those?

Tonight we had 35 people check in to the Net and 3 of those had the correct answer to tonight’s Trivia Question. Congratulations to:

  • Joe, N6GTE
  • Mike, KJ6SBW
  • Martha, KK6TMG

Thanks to all the folks who took the time to support us by checking in to the Net and to Gary (W6NVY) for use of the repeater.
